sparkywolf: (Rainbow Dash is not amused)
So here I am, giving the morning report on Dreamwidth. On occasion I'll be able to get to the LJ homepage, or my profile, or my unsigned in journal page, but I can't log in right now. Boo! LJ, why you so crashing so much? Anyway, this is crossposted, so if you see this on LJ, well, I was too fed up to post on LJ directly.

Another important meeting today, and then it's documentary marathon on Netflix time. Also got to finish that mini fic I was doing, and incorporate some elements of the MLP finale into it (c'mon, it's too awesome to not be written down and remembered for all eternity). That is, if I don't get "BBBFF" or "This Day Aria" stuck in my head!

Also today is going to be so awesome as I blow through the entire White Ranger debut in Dino Thunder and try to watch everything up to "Tutenhawken's Curse". If you guys thought Tommy as the White Ranger was pretty awesome, you ain't seen nothin'. ^^; With a quill feather pen for a weapon and a Zord that can reach top speed of Mach 20, I have to vote for the White Dino Ranger hands down when it comes to making him face off against other Rangers. >:)

Right, off I go. Time is of the essence! I'll be back for chat.
sparkywolf: (Rainbow Dash is not amused)
Okay, just wanted the members of the KRC to know that if LJ is still down by 8 PM tonight the chat link will be up on dreamwidth in a public entry (because not all of you have a dreamwidth account). Okie-dokie-loki? Okay, off I go then to the Arctic to see some polar bears (in a documentary of course. >:D) I'll also crosspost the chat link to LJ, in case somepony can access it by some miracle. Otherwise come find the link at

Blah, I'm bored. Let's do a Rider pic-spam. But first, I found this on Tumblr and I had to share: "I'm having a Twitter conversation with CS Toys about affording college vs. buying a Fourze Driver. They...suggested I just go to CS Toys College." XD LOL So, where can I apply to this school? I hope they give out free toku stuff! :P

3, 2, 1...Blast off! )

sparkywolf: (Gai aw yeah)
Uh, no, wait, that came out wrong. XD In no way are we anywhere near the holidays. It's just that...well, I'm playing too much with my new toy, and it reminds me of Christmas time. Oh yes, I did open it. Feel free to smack me, as it's a month early. Anyway, I dreamed about school again this morning. But it was a nice dream, as I found myself singing in choir again, practicing with a group of new students. And there was my choir teacher, and she was making us sing "Song of the Sea" or something. Something like that. It was nice. I was afraid I wound up singing in my sleep, but as Mom didn't make any mention of it when I came downstairs, I guess I didn't invent sleep-singing after all. Okay, on to the main task of the day...starting the next toy review! >:P I'll do this now then work on more Chinese. Job hunting...that...that can wait for a bit. It's always easier to focus on studying before Sis comes home and turns the house upside down, shrieking like a banshee in her excitement (the closer it gets to Spring Break, the more hyper she becomes. Ra help me keep my sanity... -_O)

Let's introduce the star of our show, Geki Shark! As with all the DX auxiliary mecha from the series Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger, it was never released in the US. We got a smaller version instead, sans electronics, and shortened a good 4 or 5 inches. It was also very chubby...and not at all good looking. It was kind of like an obese tiger shark, let's put it that way. This one at least looks sleek, streamlined, and much more dangerous. I'm not sure why BOA didn't release this and chose to leave us high and dry with the DX Jungle Pride, but then again, they rarely release individual auxiliaries by themselves for some reason. So for those of us wanting something to slap on the JP, there's no choice but to import from overseas. Thankfully, the molds are the same, so you can mix and match. Sweet. :D
Put away the chopsticks and the soy sauce...Sashimi is not edible! )

Yes, Operation USPS Ninja Stake Out was a success! Luckily Mom came home just as the mailman pulled into the driveway, so he managed to hand my package from[ profile] cestlavieminakoto her directly...though she in turn gave it to me foaming at the mouth and going "Don't ever have friends send you stupid stuff again! Do you want them all to murder us in our beds, now that they know where we live?! >_<" Paranoid parents are paranoid. I know it's dangerous, I know! I'm always careful about who my information goes to. Very careful. It's another reason why I sign even petitions online with my online names too, and if they ask for my address, I just go "WHAT ARE YOU, CRAZY?!" and run in the other direction.  Unless it's a job application, where I have to give employers some way of contacting me >_>".

But this package is awesome. Priority mail is supposed to take 2 to 3 days, and yet I got it in one. BOOYAH! >:)

URRRRRRRRRRGH! NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNRRRRRRF!! HUFF PUFF... So...much...tape... XD Minako, you darn near mummified the poor box. :P

Anyway, it's nothing a utility knife or box cutter can't open....or a sword. XD Also, I see there's a envelope and card for me. AW. Thanks! ^_^

Because skateboards and animals with wheels for legs are just too awesome. XD

So, a gorilla, a penguin, and a gazelle walk into a bar... )

EDIT: Did some research on my Rhino Steel Megazord. If you try to display it in Rhino Mode like I do, please make sure you put it on a shelf longer than 21 inches, which is the length of the Zord from horns to back feet, or risk someone walking into it and knocking off the horn, or hurting themselves on it. ^^;

Going to download Gobusters now. :) Despite not having Go-buster Ace, I still have kitties to review. How about it? :D

Kazari strongly approves of this post, though he would like to tell you that you do NOT want to be on the business end of somepony's horns. )

I was gonna do a Youtube review of this, but then my microphone just started crackling, and the webcam was pretty crappy, so meh, text and pic-spam it turned out to be. ^^;

I have a lot more toys up in my attic. However, I am currently bored, and I think some of you may want to see more of my collection, so I decided to make a trip up to the Arctic (the attic is cold in the winter) to do an unboxing of my rarely opened toys. This guy has seen the light of day only once before, back in 2009 or something. You can imagine how loudly he trumpeted in joy when I was like "hey, want to be part of a photo shoot?" XD

Now, feast your eyes upon the one, the only, the rare and never before captured by an iPhone in the wild (LOL)--Gao Elephant, which was found lurking, surprisingly, not at a Toys R Us but a grocery store in Hangzhou for a measly 21 dollars (138 RMB/yuan). This is the only Power Animal from the Bandai China version of the line that uses the Japanese mold, because the US never gave us a deluxe sized pachyderm to fool around with (the other Power Animals use the American molds it seems). The only differences between it and the original Bandai Japan release is the lack of chrome on the toes, no matter what the box may be trying to tell you.

Welcome to Sparky's Jungle Safari! Watch out for those tusks! )

Not saying that everyone Russian is bad, since I have a good friend who is, but those "bots" or spammers whose journals are only in Russian annoy me. Especially since I have even been friended by someone whose journal is in a language I am not going to learn or bother to learn. >_>"

I do NOT tolerate spam. I do not require people to have to enter a captcha to comment on my journal, but do you really want me to do that to dissuade these spammers? DX ARRRGH! Banned and reported some as bots. Really now. I don't see the point of creating an account just to fill up my inbox with useless notifications.

2 more arrived in my inbox this morning. Both accounts have been reported for being so similar they have to be bots... if these people are, well, actual people, since some do have entries (albeit in Russian) just...I have to ask, WHY friend someone who can't read your language? >_>" Unless you just want to wait to see if I'll unconsciously friend you back so you can scour my entries for personal information, to which I say HELL NO, YOU MUST GO. Away with thee!

EDIT: All flames, spam, and bots will be fed to this bad boy here. Just a warning. >:)

...due to copyright issues and stuff thanks to the feds taking down Megaupload, fear not! Someone on Tumblr has just written a great article on the subject, and this should ease everyone's fear. I'll just place the entire article under a cut, in case anyone wants to read it.

Fear not, fellow fans! Keep the fandom alive! )

Sparky's note: That does it, I'm going to buy that SH MonsterArts Godzilla as soon as Dad says it's okay for me to order it by May. >:) Then I'll go look for some other Figuarts to buy. Toei, Bandai, everyone, shut up and take my (borrowed) money! Thanks for clearing up the issue, diaxiann @ Tumblr. :3

sparkywolf: (Tatoba chicken thingy)
Ah, my first public post in days! Okay, here we go. :3

Woke up this morning way more sleepy than I should have considering I had 8 hours of sleep, and I don't know what went wrong. It seems like my body is way more fickle than it needs to be. Too little sleep and I feel like sleeping more, too much and I still feel like sleeping more. *headdesk* Maybe I am half snake or something and all it wants to do right now is to hibernate. I dunno, lol.

Anyway, Happy Groundhog Day! Judging by the clouds overhead, Phil won't see his shadow, which means spring will be here soon. Hooray! Though, of course, Phil only has, according to experts, roughly 37% chance of being right. ^^;

And, as a lovely Groundhog's Day present, Over-Time just came out with the RAW and the script for Kamen Rider OOO Wonderful Shogun and the 21 Core Medals movie. I see their RAW is over 1 GB...yikes! I'll wait for TV-Nihon's RAW instead. I have a lower definition RAW that I downloaded off of Rangerboard before the Megaupload shutdown and the subsequent closing of the multimedia thread to stop the FBI from noticing the site, but it still works with Over-Time's script, so I'll be using that for the time being. If you're interested in the movie, don't forget to samba over there and nab it while the links are still hot! I might be tempted to download the SD DDL later just so that I have a slightly better picture quality, as the RB RAW is just...ugh. It's not bad, but it's not good quality, either.

Speaking of RB I'll never post in there again. The people there are so rude, especially the mods. >_< Once I posted to comment on how expensive toku merchandise were getting and just some wishful thinking, and I received a reply that basically said this: "You think stuff is too expensive and you complain your Rin Lion and Chameleon set burned your dad's wallet? Then stop leeching money off of him and get a job, idiot." *rolls eyes* Thank you for giving me that advice, jerk. Back then I was a full time student with class hours that took up a big chunk of the day and even at night, not to mention at that point I had heavy coursework, so I couldn't look for a job or have any possibility of keeping it. And that year I did have an internship which gave me some money, but my parents insisted I spend them on academic stuff, not toku merchandise. My debit card which I got during my internship was strictly to be used to buy textbooks and other school supplies, and my account was watched for any suspicious activity. So yep, no spending money on random stuff for me, except on my b-days and Christmas, when my parents begrudgingly allow me one toku-related item of my choice. (And this was around my birthday too, so I was really sad that year thanks to the flames I got from that forum.)

However, I did get this wallpaper from Rangerboard, and last night I ran my Desktop Ponies program and left it on while I read a book titled "History's Grossest, Wackiest Moments". Looked up about 10 minutes later just in time to cap this. I must say, Rainbow Dash, you picked a really nice place to sleep. xD And also Pinkie Pie would not stop bouncing on Ryu-Sei-Oh's head. It's like she likes him a lot or something. :P Only Derpy made sure to steer clear of the dragon...strange, because knowing Derpy, she would probably crash into him a lot if they were ever in the same universe together. :P

*open in new window to enlarge* If any of you Power Rangers or Super Sentai fans want the wallpaper, let me know, and I'll post a link. I also have Dragonzord and Green Ranger (complete with candle) wallpapers for any MMPR fans out there. Never mind the Speed fan thing running...I just wanted to make sure my computer wasn't going to overheat with all those ponies running amok all over the place.

Documentary pimping. For all your history nerd needs! )

[Error: unknown template qotd] Why, my favorite video game is Okami, so of course my favorite video game character that I would like to be friends with in real life is Okami Amaterasu! Together we could embark on a quest to make everyone and everything happy, by feeding the animals, helping people with their laundry (ha ha, yes, yes), and defeating any Oni that stood in our way. :D And along the way I'd learn everything there is to possibly learn from her little "bug" of a friend, Issun. :P

This is a pretty good game for the PS2, by the way. Comparable to Zelda in terms of epicness, and just as long (I think it took me about 45 hours total to finish the game the first time around). It's very under-appreciated because it didn't sell very well initially, but you can find it on Amazon for a good price still for both the PS2 and Wii (the versions are identical in game-play, only the Wii looks more like a watercolor world now instead of a Japanese brush painting because the colors are brighter). Highly recommended! ^_^

Let's Ride! )
sparkywolf: (Pinkie Pie - Say what?!)
Crossposting this from Dreamwidth today because LJ's Rich Text thing refuses to come up completely, leaving me with only a text box and nothing else. >_>"

So. First off, let's start with the meme. Least favorite side character, eh? That has got to be Hina, hands down. *nods* First of all, we're never told how she got "super strength" and can lift everything from vending machines to giant boulders. And gosh darn it she was always getting in the way of our "bromance" in the series. And she served no purpose other than to mope over the "loss" of her brother nearly every time the camera focuses on her, all because some greedy bird monster has hijacked his comatose body. *rolls eyes* Yes, we know your big brother is not Mr. Meany McMeanPants, but why let that get to you? >_>"

Now, before I continue, Cakeboss would like to say a few words:

Anyway, today is going to be business as usual. Somehow all the snow melted last night, so I'm going to go see if it's okay for me to walk around in a bit, and then I'll continue to search for any means of employment. Tonight I look forward to more rping if that's possible, and unless I should wind up on an adventure searching for treasure I should have at least an outline, if not a couple of paragraphs, of my new smut fic done. It all depends on how fast my internet is, how quickly I can get things done, yadda yadda.
sparkywolf: (Gai aw yeah)
I know you've been waiting for this, especially you, kael. :P So I decided to kill what battery life my iPhone had to bring you the following pics from my toku and anime collection. Dad wouldn't let me add any more, or else this pic-spam would be even more epic, so *ahem* I look forward to filling up all that empty space you see with SH Figuarts, but for now, this set up will do. XD

Please, step into Sparky's mini Bandai Japan Toy Museum exhibit. x3 Admission is free! :DDDDD All pictures have been resized, so feel free to zoom in for a closer look. ^^b

Come one, come all! Grand Opening today! )

I hope you've enjoyed your stay in Sparky's Bandai/Hasbro Toy Museum. I hope to see you again for the next exciting tour! ^_^

sparkywolf: (How half boiled! >_<)
 Yep, it's down again. YAY.

If you must know what I was up to for some reason, well, I spent today mostly watching documentaries...including one on food. Like, I'll never look at my dinner the same way again...who knew how unsanitary the conditions in some slaughterhouses are...or how invasive corn is in our meals? It's everywhere! :O

Sadly, I will always be a carnivore. Why does meat taste so good, even if it's not exactly farm fresh like the label says it is?

Anyway, I think I'll be going back to my chat now...
sparkywolf: (Gai aw yeah)

Well, this didn't take me this long to assemble. ^_^ It was much like Gunpla, only so much simpler, due to the fact that there were only so many sprues to work with. No painting required, either, it is very anime-accurate. The only annoyance I had was with the eye stickers (which, thankfully, weren't so tiny you really need tweezers to hold on to them or risk spending hours searching for them (There was actually 2 copies of the sticker sheet in the box, in case you messed up...good thinking, Bandai! Why didn't you do this for Epyon?! >_<). And I laughed when the instructions told me to put on the tongue and mouth stickers. Really? Lugia needs stickers to eat and look bad-ass? :P

Articulation wise, its legs and feet can rotate 360 (the thighs are of course hindered by the spines on the back and its wings), and when you move Lugia's head up and down its wings "flap" up and down too (all thanks to a little screw mechanism in its body). It's tail can also rotate around if you want to emulate it flying overhead, rather than in this "attack mode." And of course the mouth opens and closes, though it doesn't close all the way thanks to the way it's designed. It also comes with a stand (which resembles a Pokeball) which doesn't show up too well in the pic because it's clear plastic, and the lighting isn't too good. It really doesn't need a stand as it stands just fine, but it's nice to see it included just so that Lugia isn't falling over due to it being a tad top heavy and kinda wobbly on its own two feet.

Overall, I give this kit a 5 out of 5 for show-accuracy, easy assembly, and good (and not entirely useless) gimmick. It would have been better with an effect part to simulate it attacking with Aeroblast or something, but meh. I'll put it in this "attack mode" next to Epyon for the LOLZ...Gundam vs. legendary Pokemon, who will win? XD

Right, okay, off to the shower now. My interview is over so I can relax now. ;D It went well. ^_^

This year what I would like most would be a job, a hyper fanboy, and a large blue dinosaur with a big drill butt. Thank you and good night. XD

Why you so lovable, Gai? *glomps him* You and your dinosaur?
Gai: O___o I am just that awesome? Anyway, Goujyu Rex is not huggable! D:
Me: Oh, that's no problem! *grows as tall as the mecha and hugs it*
Gai: What the heck did you have for lunch, Miracle Gro? O.o
Me: Maybe. :P *hugs the Rex*
GoujyuRex: Growl? O.o

[Error: unknown template qotd]Christmas! Like that wasn't obvious. :P It's the only time of the year where almost nothing is off limits in terms of presents, price and's the perfect holiday to cultivate one's desire! *starts rambling on about being materialistic and proud of it and gets buried under a large pile of presents delivered to her by some Santa hat wearing Yummies* Dudes, that's creepy! I didn't ask for this...ACK! *gets squashed by a giant My Little Pony plushy* This is SO NOT cool. X_X

Uh oh, we're in trouble... )
sparkywolf: (Ankh is not disturb)
on Kamen Rider OOO Sparky's Night Alone!

1. Downloaded more Gaoranger (which had been put on hiatus) to watch. A Wild Force plagiarized (or nearly so, since they did credit the series in the end credits) series that deserves to be finished simply because its villains were badass.

2. Halfway there to getting that Ice Beam TM! Just a couple thousand more coins from the Celadon Game Corner to go...

and 3. fumine alerted me to the possibility of my iPhone having a spying software called Carrier IQ, which can log everything from keystrokes (KEYSTROKES?!! So they know everything I type out, be it a LJ comment, or email to an employer? WTH?) to your personal data and website history. O___________o Oookay, luckily for us iPhone users with ios 5 installed on our systems, you can turn off this thing by doing the following:
"To disable Carrier IQ on iOS 5, iPhone iOS 5 users should select the
Settings app, touch "Location Services," and then "System Services" at
the bottom of the pane.
Toggling "Diagnostics & Usage" to the "Off" position disables Carrier IQ."

Unfortunately, unless you install an app (if any of you have Androids, which are more likely to come with Carrier IQ than an Apple iPhone) that specifically checks for this, you'll never know you have it...which is scary! D: I'll be disabling the Diagnostics and Usage on my phone in a bit. I DO NOT want this on my phone.
